Ching's, Jiri's and Stephanie's project

Okay, we'd like to know how people spend their free time around Greenlake.
In other words, we'd like to know what they are doing there and why.
After collecting information by questionning people there, we should be able to make a report.
This is our plan...

That is a good idea. You will need to tie in something that requires you to research some aspect of the English language.
Possibilities are peoples' use of adjectives when they should use adverbs. eg He walks quick. , when they should say He walks quickly.
You could play with comparative and superlative adjectives.
You could ask people if they feel comfortable about correcting your language or that of other immigrants and what things they would correct mostly. You could paraphrase what people say to demonstrate reported speech. Think about it and we will explore it further in class. Congratulations on being first to get started and document it.

Chris, thank you for your advices. We could practice the future tense too, by asking questions like : "what do you thing you'll be doing next Summer around Green lake?" or "What kind of sport you'll be playing two months from now around Green Lake?". I don't know, it's just an idea.

And yes, I think that we definitively have to interview the guy who teaches Spanish.

Stephanie, thats a good idea, mine are just suggestions. You will find an awful lot of work if you take on too much. A 5 minute video documentary or film is at least 4 hours work. If this project is successful we will work on furher English points. Interviewing the Spanish teacher is good, he might like to be forwarned and given a list of your questions a few days before the interview. Other bystanders can be interviewed without a list of questions, provided you have a spiel to invite them explaining what you are doing and they agree. I will talk in class about preparing the project this week.
Jiri,
men is plural of man which requires an indefinite article. Check the articles exercise on the blog.
'Offer' is the infinitive, correct your sentence to present continuous. There are 'tense' exercises listed on the blog too.
'Make' has some unusual uses eg you can either make or take a video, you take a photograph and you 'have' or 'conduct' or attend (if you are being interviewed)an interview. Also you could just, 'interview' the person.
We can make a video recording of an interview but we don't make an interview. Practice, practice!

There is a man who walks around green Lake very often. He is offering to teach Spanish for people who are walking around. We want to make a video recording of an interview with him.
Thanks Chris. I tried to correct that. That what I need, even I feel uncomfortable to read about my mistakes.

Very good Jiri. I am pleased you are making a good effort to write often. We all make mistakes, and they can be a tool for learning.
