Welcome back to advanced ESL

I hope you enjoyed the break and welcome to our new students, who also have been invited to join our blog. This week we will watch a video about affirming your rights in the USA. I urge you to watch the first part and think about the questions. In class we will discuss these questions and any you have regarding the topic and of course grammar and understanding the language. The whole video is about 45 minutes long. There are three instances encounters with law enforcement. For this exercise you only need to watch the first encounter which include;
1. how you can give up your rights
2. a legal commentary of the event
3. a revised re-enactment
4. a further commentary.
Click on the link "Don’t give away your rights" and watch the video.
Questions.
1.In your own words, what are the 3 Constitutional Amendments relevant to being stopped by police?
2. What does the video recommend that you do when stopped by the police?
3. Do these recommendations apply to you if you are completely innocent and why?
4. Are there similar rights in your country of origin, how do they differ?
Further reading.
